AUSTRALIA LOSES CONTRACT.

LONDON, January 23,
Weddels secured the Army meat contract for their new Buenos Ayres works. They refuse to mention the price, but state that it is much below the Australian tenders.
According to the "Standard" the successful tender was 70d a doz<en tins. The Australian tender was 81d, the total difference being £7300.
