A meeting is to be held this evening in the Y.M.C.A. Hall by Mr George Alien, director of tho Bolivian-Indian Mission, who has an interesting story to tell. The executive of the Come-in-Clnb has issued invitations for an afternoon gathering to be held in the clubrooms, Worcester street (behind The Press ollice) on Monday. _ The aims and objects of the club will be liriefly explained to the guests. Last Friday • an enjoyable evening was spent at the fortnightly euchre party and dance held in the schoolroom at Ellesmere. Miss P. Elford supplied the' music for the dance, and Mi's Quaife, Misses M. Williams, M. Elford, and Mr R. Wall played extras. The winner of one euchre prize was Miss E. Burt (fruit bowl). Messrs It. Elford, G. Reesley, J. Burnett, and T. Scott tied for the men's prize. The play-off resulted in a win for Mr G. Iteesby (thermos flask). The fete, organised by Mrs Calson, in aid of St. Saviour's Babies' Home, is beinc held at' the Sumner Town Hall to-morrow. In the evening a dance, for which great preparations are being made, will bo held in the Town Hall for the same object. The, Home Economics Association is extremely fortunate in having induced Mr S. BALL AT PIGEON BAY. . A ball - given by the residents of Pigeon Bay was held in the Pigeon Bay "Hall on Tuesday night. There was a large attendance, from-the Bay and. the surrounding district.
