MAN'S STRUGGLE AGAINST DARKNESS.
AN EPIC OF TEN THOUSAND YEABS.
' For thousands of years man struggled against darkness. First. there. was tho rushlight shedding its fitful glare in the surrounding -gloom. Then came the. flickering candle. Succeeding the candle arrived the oil lamp which in turn waß followed by gas—and then at one stroke—man became Master over Darkness—for there appeared on the sceno tho Electric lamp.
