METHVEN. The Methren Golf Club was again favoured with idea] weather for their club competitions oa Saturday afternoon, and conser/ucntly there was a largo attendance of members, and a very pleasant afternoon was sirent by all or. the" links. The consistently hard frosts had had a beneficial effect on the grass itom a golfer's point of view, and patches had been burnt off, thus minimising the danger oi losing balls, and this added to the enjoyment of tho games played. Miss White, Miss Boon v. Mrs Wocd, Miss 'Wright, v. Miss Mason, Miss Sidey v. Miss Willis, MiS3 McDowtdl V. scorer. MALVERN CLUB. There was n. very disappointing number out for tho club bogey match played at Rowailan last week. The following were tho best cards:—W. J. Glasgow 2 up. Miss Cogan 1 up, T. Curran all square, Misa Stark 3 down. Miss Bush A down, R. Macdonald 4 down, S. J. Murdoch 5 down, D. McMillan S down, R. Reid 6 down, S. J. Busheli 6 down. On Juno 271 h the club -will play Lake, Coloridgo Club at Lake Coleridge, and it is hoped that as many of tho club as possible will make tho trip, in addition to the regular team. On July 3rd a match will be played against Akaroa.. There is now a playing membership of .20 ladic3 and 25 men.
