Owing to the great increase in, the work- of the Treasury , Department .01 the City Council, it has become necessary for an additional assistant accountant'to be appointed. The By-laws'and Finance Committee reported to this effect a* ldst night's meeting of the j Council. It recommended that the vacancy, be advertised at a salary .of £#)Q per annum, and. suggested that applicants, should, be required to be well forward'in their studies for the I New Zealand Society of Accountants i examination.
