PIGEON SHOOTING.

SPRINGSTON GUN CLUB. The Springston Gun Club held a shoot at Mr C. N. Powell's paddock, on Thursday afternoon for a silver cup given by .Mr D. MacGregor. . The weather conditions were ideal. The match, which was one of 15 clay birds, drew 14 competitors. Messrs J. Digby. and T. J. Kimber tied for first place, • and in the shoot-off J. Digby won on -the second round, T. J. Kimber s taking second prize, a cup given by the club. • Following are the scores:—T. J. Kimber (17yds), 15; J. Digby (11yds), 15; D. MacGregor (14yds), 14; D. Ryan (11yds), 13; J. Winchester (14yds), 13; W. R. Donald (12yds), 13; F. Frampton (11yds), 13; C N. Powell (15yds), 12; R. Arnst (16yds), 12- E. Hammond (16yds), 12; 3. J. Matthews <l6yds), 11; Dr. E, ,T. Cooks (11yds), 11; L. Everest (11yds), 11; H. H. Kimber (12yds), 11. The next event, a nine-bird sweep, drew 16 competitors, nud R. Arnst (15yds), D. 'Rvan (11yds), and W. R. Donald (11yds) shot the possible and divided the money. The second sweep of nine birds drew 16 competitors, T. J. Kimber shooting the possible and taking first money. R. Arnßt, N'. Powell, and F. Frampton, with eight breaks, divided second and third money. _ A six-bird sweep was then held, and this event was won by 0. N. Powell and R. Arnst, who divided the prize money. A flrst-miss-out-sweep drew six entrants and was won on the ninth round by E. Hammond, with 0. N. Powell second. The concluding event, a first-miss-out-sweep, was won by E. Hammond-on the fifth round, T. Kimber being second. A feature of the day's shooting was the performance of T. Kimber, who had 16 breaks in the big match with his first barrel. The secretarial duties were carried out by 'Mr T Kimber, and Messrs Glassen and 0. G. Judso'n officiated at the score-board. Mr E. H Rowell was handicapper and referee.
