Jumble Sale. A bazaar will be : held-in the Oddfellows' Hall this afternoon. There will be jumble, sweets, and cake stalls, and a bran tub. Admission is free. Golf. The Lyttelton Ladies' Golf Club will hold an eclectic match at Charteris Bay during the week-end for a trophy presented by Miss C. Williams. The Diamond Harbour Club will play a mixed foursome match this afternoon for Mr D. Manson's rose bowl. Euchre. , A euchre tournament, in aid of the funds of the forthcoming tug-of-war carnival was held in the Club Hall on Thursday night. Results were as follows: —Ladies: Mrs T. Gorst 1, Mrs S. Edgar 2, Mrs Voyce 3, Mrs Williams 4, Mrs May 5; men: Messrs E. Lester 1, J. Voyce 2, A. Lester 3, O'Donnell 4, J. Radcliffo 5. Mock Wedding Banquet. A most interesting and amusing mock wedding banquet, under the auspices of the Methodist Bibli Class, was held in the Excelsior Hall on Thursday evening. The function waß organised by Miss Pitcaithly and the girls of the class, to raise funds for the Bible Class. There was an attendance of about 180. The principal parts were taken by Miss Ethel Jeffries (bride), Mr F. Heal (bridegroom), Misses Dorothy Evans and Thelnia Hoist (bridesmaids), Mr W. Halliday (best man), Mr Norman Hoist (groomsman), Miss M, Cowley and Mr A. Brooks (the bride's parents), Miss N. Webb and Mr J. Nelson (the bridegroom's'parents), Mr M. P. Dudley (clergyman). The different speeches and toasts were the cause of much merriment. During the evening the followin* contributed items:—MißS Lorell Irwin (piano solo),. Misses Nystram, E. Thurlow, E. Muxlow, Mr J. Nelson (songs), Miss Ritchie (recitations), Misses Foster (instrumental items), Mr Hitchens (ventriloquist). lire. An alarm was given at 8 o'clock last evening for a fire in a bedroom at a house occupied by Mr W. O'Neil, Dublin street next to the Lyttelton Club. On the arrival of the Brigade it was found that some bedding in the room was alight. The fire was quickly beaten out and little damage done. ___
