In the House of Representatives, Mr Stanley Bruce announced the terms of reference of the enquiry to be conducted by Sir Arthur Robinson into the operations of the Briton Phosphate Commission. Sir Arthur will be asked to report upon the alleged inharmonious relations between the Au* tralian Phosphate Commission and the British and New Zealand Phosphate Commissioners, and between the Australian Commissioner and the executive and staff of the Commission. He will also be asked to enquire into the extent which such relations have affected the interests of the Commission m general and Australian interests in particular, and the extent to which they contributed towards the decision of the Commissioners to transfer the head office of the Commission from Australia to New Zealand. Sir Arthur will also be asked to report how far the investigations of the Royal Commission support the contention of the British Government that harmony between the Commissioners cannot be established as long as the present Australian Commissioner remains in office. He is enjoined to report as soon as possible, and an effort will be made to have the sittings in camera.
