Curious reminders of the manner in which New Zealandors "invalided to Blighty" roamed over the British Isles occasionally crop u-p. Th e latest is a letter to an Auckland resident from a °* Edinburgh. He says: Reading of your Aiizao Day celebration reminds me of a souvenir that has been in my possession for four years. /t 8 • b y on « of my little boys, and I am curious to know if the original owner is still alive. It was originally a penny, but had been ma'le into an identity disc. On one side is the inscription, 'Dead meat ticket.' and on the other, 'Auckland. New Zealand. 31031. C.E.—W. Strong.' I myself was at the landing (W. Beach) with the Royal Scots, and afterwards spent some haupy hours .with some of vour bnvs in +ho convalescent camp at Muetapha-Paaha."
