A special meeting of the. Canterbury Chamber of Comnjerce. lvas held yes-. tprday afternoon. - Mr \\. Maehin (president) occupied the chair, fourteen other members being present. JJo sifid that the special committee set up. to nominate a, in place of Mr Nortou Francis (resigned.) liad agreed to recommend -Mr C, P. Agar. The Council had unanimously agreed to this recommendation < Mr Maehin moved its adoption. The resolution was seconded by Mr P. H.
