DOG TRIALS.

WAIKARI CLUB. The AVaikari Collie Club's annual trials were held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday last, and they wero. carriod through very successfully, but the eold nor'-wester that blew on the first day made matters very unpleasant for both .the competitors and the public, who attended in fairly good force. It rained on the second day, but although very dull and-threatening, •it held off well on the last day. Mr A. J. Elliot officiated as judge, and his prompt decisions gave entire satisfaction, and the way the large entry was put through reflects great credit.on the energetic committee and secretary. The heading events were not quite up to the standard of previous years, although Mr U. Chapman's old veteran, Glen, showed that he is still capable, of winning the. yarding event in good s.tyle.
