THE WHEAT QUESTION.
TP THE EDITOi 0? 'THE PBESS." Sir, —Mr Corson, in his courteous • cply to me on the big additional and previously undisclosed profits on wheatmeal sold by millers, has stopped short of the particular figures I required, lh© question has become important, because some millers have given statements about the cost of manufacturing flour of one kind, but have given no costs of manufacturing wheat-meal, which is sold at the same price '' IS flour, although the cheap bran and uollard is included in the mixture. Mr Corson, as chairman of Distributors. Ltd., has the whole of the information at his command, and quite rightly has hern the millers' spokesman «n the question. I \ here fore desire, Mr Editor, to a>k Mr Corson, as chairman of Distributor*. Ltd.. what quantity of wheat-meal for the manufacture of brown bread was sold by that body last year, and what riercentago of the total output this amounts to. —Yours, etc., ONE WHO DESIRES ALL THE FACT.-. May Ist, 1920.
