GRIM FIGHTERS.
AUSTRALIAN TEST TEAM. SPORTSMANLIKE COMMENT fa* CfBU—EBJ s a ASSOCIATION—OOJYWOBJ.) (lus&iXtoz tiro x.%. cabl* asbociatios.) LONDON, April 80. Sportsmanlike comment, bearing out. the general opinion on. the Holyport match, is made by Mr Falcon, who said: "Make no mistake. The Australians at Holyport are not the same Australians who will face the Test teams. They will then be the same grim fighters the Australians always are. "It is absurd to judge their Teat play upon the Holyport wicket, nhich was one of the worst possible. I am sure none of the Australians ever played in such conditions. It was just a pleasant match under oM-tash-ioned oountry-house conditions, with a team of thoroughly good fellows, all good sportsmen, who played the ,'ame with zest and keenness. "The idea was to show the Australians that there was another kind of English cridket than that liabituallyseen in Tests and county matches. Ninety per cent, of the matches in England are played round the corner, so to speak, on pleasant meadows, and village greens, without that grim keenness usually displayed by first-class cricketers."
LEICESTER MATCH POSTPONED. (Received May 2nd, 5.6 p.m.) LONDON, Mav i. There was no play in the Leicester match, Leicestershire v. the Australians to-day. The overnight drizzle developed into
a heavy fall in the morning, continuing till noon, by which time the ground was sodden. After inspection at 3.30 p.m. it was decided that the pitch was unfit for play.
