THE PRIME MINISTER.
VISIT TO SOUTH ISLAND. The Right Hon. J. G. Coates, Prime Minister, arrived from Wellington-yes-terdav morning by the ferry steamer, and left latef. by the first express for Dunedin. He will perform the closing ceremony of the Exhibition this afternoon. This ceremony will be in the open air, in accordance with the pre? cedent of Wembley. On Monday evening Mr Coates will return to Cbristchurch. He will be present at the garden partv and banquet to be tendered on Tuesday to Lake Road respectively by the electors of Ellesmere. Sir Hcaton Rhodes at Meadowbank and The Prime Minister will leave for Wellington on Wednesday night. He is ncompanied on his southern tour bj" Mr Frank Thomsnn, secretary of the Prime Minister's Department. Changes in the Cabinet will not he announced until after Mr Coates returns to Wellington, but it is expected that he will deal with matters of policy and possibly will announce the date of the session at Dunedin to-day.
