On the journey northward from Fairbanks, Wilkins's areoplane, the Alaskan, nearly crashed on the Endacotts. The right landing wheel almost touched a snow bank. Since his arrial at Point , Barrow Wilkins has tried three times to . make the return journey, but each tirno has been forced back by storms and low-hanging clouds. He is now ready to make the fouxth attempt.

Wilbur, has received a personal radio from Commander Byrd to-day, saying that the Arctic expedition ship Chantier will reach Spitzbergen by Friday. BYRD EXPEDITION. (RIOTER'S TELIOAAIia.) (Received April 30th, 7.15 p.po-) OSLO, April 29. Tbe Byfd Polar Expedition has arrived at King's Bay, Spitzbergen. The Bhip Chantier carries two aeroplanes on which it is intended to fly to tho Tole from a baso 400 miles away.
