EGYPTIAN LEADERS SUED. AMERICAN WIDOW'S BIG CLAIM. (BY CABLE— rEESS ASSOCIATION—COIVEIOHT.) (austbaliax a.vd x.z. cable association.) (Received April 28th, 5.5 p.m.) CAIRO, April 27. An interesting lawsuit has begun on behalf of Mrß Folk, widow of the American, Mr Joseph W. Folk, at one time Governor of Missouri, against the codefenders Znghloul Pasha, and Mohamed Pasha Mahmud, for £120,000. Counsel stated that Mahmud went to lie American and negotiated an agreement under which Mr Folk was to conduct a propaganda campaign in favour of Egyptian independence, receiving JIK) dollars a month for two years, plus 100,000 in the event of success. Counsel produced receipts showing chat Mr Folk had actually received 'J5,000 dollars, and affirmed that he had been actively engaged from 1919 to 021, when the agreement was terminated by cable from Zaghloul Pasha. The widow now sues for expenses, arrears of salary, and the £IOO,OOO, counsel arguing that Egypt has become a sovereign and independent State. He described Mr Folk's efforts toward the >nsummation of this condition. The hearing has been adjourned.
