OBITUARY.
• MR F. J. G. WILKINSON. Advice was received by cable in diristchurch yesterday of the death, at Won the 26th inst., of Mr Francis i John Gow Wilkinson, of the firm of ' Messrs Ford and Hadfield, Ltd., Worcester street, Christchurch. Mr Wilkinson left Sydney on March 17th by the K.M.S. Osterley, en route on a holiday t.ip to England, and-the- .vessel was due to arrive; at Home to-day. The lite Mr Wilkinson was born in Hokitiki, and was educated at the Boys' Hign School, Christchurch. He was for many years a prominent official >in tit Bervic© of til© Alliance Assurance /b., Ltd., Christchurch, and later was ippointed the first manager i'or the State. Fire Insurance; Department in this City. Home 15 years ago, Mr Wilkinson resigned from this position to join Mr A. Keith Hadfield as partner in tho firm of Messrs Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. The late Mr Wilkinson, in his younger days, took a very keen interest in sport, and was always a Tery enthusiastic supporter of his old school. He was a member of the Christchurch Football Club, playing as i wing threequarter; He was a-member of Knox Presbyterian Church,' aiid was for very many years secretary of the Church. Mr Wilkinson's first wife was a daughter of the lata. Mr James Goss, and there were two children of the marriage. His second wife was a sister of th? late Mr James Laurenson, for many years rjember for Lyttelton. Mr Wilkinson waa well-known in • Christthnrch, and had a genial, sympathetic and kindly nature. He was a man of the highest integrity, and will be mourned by a large circle of friends.
