PARISH MEETINGS.
ST. MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS. Last night tlio parish of St. Michael and All Angels held its annual meeting. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—Vicar's warden, Mr H. Owen; people's warden, Mr A. H. Richards; vestry. Dr. A. Sandston, Messrs C. G. Drury, H. W. Blake, A. J. Merton, A. H. Paul, S. R. Cuming, J. Pleasance, H. Williams, J. Gilby, and M. Warren; representatives to the Council of Christian Congregations, Miss E. J. M. Cardalo and Mr T. M. Lewington; auditor, Mr E. W. Lewington. The balance-sheet, which showed a debit balance of £l3 4s sd, was adopted. In reviewing the year's work, the vicar, the Rev. C. Perry, said the Church owed much to all those workers who had helped with the Church work. He stated that the longer h© stayed in the parish he became more astounded at its success. ST. MATTHEW'S, ST. ALBANS. The annual meeting of the parishioners of St. Matthew's, St. Albans, was held last evening. The vicar, the Rev. S. Hamilton, presided over a large attendance. The vicar's report referred to the great loss suffered by the parish by the removal of Sister Winifred on account of ill-health. They had also lost the help of the Rev. T. A. Hamilton, who had gone to New Brighton for a time. A proposal had been considered by the vestry, and would be brought forward shortly, to extend their duplex envelope movement in such a way ob to make it the basis of their financial arrangements. Good progress had been made in the St. Matthew's Victory Memorial School, under the new headmaster. He trusted that it would not be long before the services of a curate might be obtained. The .population of the parish was rapidly increasing, and the work was beyond what any one man could do. The churchwardens' report stated that there was a credit balance of £lO ISs Id, after making a transfer of £Bl 10s 8d to the Victory School account. An item of special interest among the receipts of the general church fund' was the amount of £3OO 0s Id, which came in as a result of the very successful jubilee celebrations. The organ fund account was closed during the year, and the balanco, £5 10s Bd, was transferred to the genera] church fund. Thankß were offered to all church workers in the porish, and especially to the Rev. S. Hamilton, for his ready co-operation and advice, The vicar announced that Mr William Armitage and Mr F. J. Saville had been reelected churchwardens. The following vestry was elected: —Messrs G. M, Bowen, L. O. Knight, A. W. Watters, P. W. Deighton, S. T. Bishop, A. H. Hobbs, A. E. Baker, K. Burr, E, Wilson, and C. F. Sneyd.
