NEW BRIGHTON NOTES.

Tides. ' It will be high tide on the beach this afternoon at 1.13, and ifi the river at 2.41, and to-morrow at 1.52 p.m. and 3.21 p.m. respectively. The Churches. There will be a special Anzac Memorial service at St. Faith's Church tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock, at which the local territorials and the senior cadet company will attend. The Rev. Canon T. A. Hamilton will preach. Holy Communion will bo celebrated at 8 a.m., and Evensong at 7 p.m. An Anzac Memorial service will be Jield nt tho Presbyterian Church tomorrow at 11 a.m., when tho local troop of Boy Scouts and Girl Guides will be present. At 6.30 p.m. the Rev. J. S. Young will tako for his subject, "Qualification of an Elder," and there will be a selected anthem. Last' Sunday was observed in the I'reSbytertttn Church as Harvest Thanksgiving Day. The Church was tastefully decorated with flowers and autumn tints. There was also a large variety of fruits and vegetables at the morning service. The Rev. T. W. Armour, of Knox Church, preached the germon. The choir of Sunday School children, with Miss Esther Goodland as soloist, contributed the hymns. At the ovening service Dr. Ambrose, who has been engaged in Mission work at Poona, India, gave an address on her work there. Miss Langley sang, "The Harvester's Night Song," the choir rendering tho anthem. On Monday a sale of produce and work was held, yielding very satisfactory results. Miniature Rifle Club. The eleventh annual meeting of tho Miniature Rifle Club was held in the Club rooms on Thursday, Mr A. W. Owles, the president, being itt the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The Club had not been very successful in the Association matches, yet had experienced some very close finishes in connexion with same. The Club competition had been very keenly contested, and a very healthy rivalry had existed. The balance-sheet Showed the assets t6 be ,£3l lis od, and a credit balance in hknd of £1 11a 9d. A motion of sympathy was passed to the Mayor (Mr J. Gamble) and the members of his family, in their recent bereavement. The election of officers resulted as follows Patron, the Mayor (Mr J.
