OPEN-AIR SCHOOL.
MEETING AT OPAWA. The annual meeting of the Association of the Love of God was held at the Opaiva Open-Air School on Saturday afternoon, Rev. Canon Wilford ingCanon Wilford said that since the Association was founded ten years ago it had accomplished much. The liishopscourt Hostel had been furnised by the Association; the establishment of the Girls' Hostel at Hokitika had been assisted by it, the Association had contributed nearly £IO,OOO to the building of the Victory Memorial School, it had made considerable grants to the Diocesan Board of Education, and now the Opawa School had been built as a result of the Association's efforts; and he was pleased to say, the school was now entirely free of debt. In time to come, he was sure, the Association could do much more work than its founders had ever dreamed to be possible. The Standing Committee for the year was elected as follows:—Mes--dames Andrews and Clarkson, Misses Pitts, Cardale, and Ross, Rev. C. A. Praer, Miss Miller (secretary), and Mr Bishop (treasurer). It was decided, in response to a request from Kaiapoi, to advise the Kaiapoi people that the Association would be prepared to assist in helping th9m to build an open-air school.
