"THE CLEAN HEART."

"THE CALL' OF COURAGE." GRAND THEATRE, MONDAY. An adaptation of A. S. M. Hutchinson's successful novel, "Tho .Clean Heart," is the premier attraction at tho Grand Theatre next, week, with Percy Marmont and Mar. guerite de la Motte in tho leading roles. Retaining all tho whimsical and philosophical humour iharacteristic of tho author, abounding in situations which are exceptionally faithful to realities, "The Clean Heart" becomes a distinctive and eminently entertaining picture. There are draamtio situations which lead to renunciations; the engaging humour of the philosopher-tramp, and an appealing love story which has some unusual dramatic twists which finally shape themselves into a satisfactory climax. A welcome change is the entire absence of a villain, the hero's only enemy being his own self, which is, after all, true to lifei This is a perfectly balanced picture, with that humanness about it which, stamps it indelibly with the Hutchinson hallmark. Percy Marmont's acting leaves, as usual, nothing to be desired, and Otis Harlan as the tramp, and Marguerite de ]a Motte asi the girl move with fine discretion throughout. .The second picture is "The Call of ' ~,.£„„." = t_..-; n „ t) ie fvclnni" Arf /"ircl. It .is one of the more logical class of Western pictures, though never omitting the indispensable element of action and excitement. The Grand Quality Orchestra will play an appropriate programme of music. The box plans are at The Bristol Piano Co.
