LIMITED EXPRESS.
♦ NEARLY A COLLISION. IV _____ (PKESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) PALMEKSTON N., April 16. The Limited Express, when coming into Palmerston North station on Wednesday evening, narrowly escaped colliding with the rear of a train which was drawn up on the main line after discharging passengers. As it was, the Limited overran the signal, and stopped several oar lengths from the rear of the train. The lights on the van warned the Limited driver of his danger. It is understood an enquiry will bo conducted by the authorities next week into an alleged dereliction of duty by a railway employee.
