COLLIE DOG TRIALS.
GERAbDINE CLUB. On Thursday, the dog trials under the management of the Geraldine Collie Dog Club drew a large number of interested spectators to Messrs Blair Bros.' farm at Peel Forest, where the trials took place, under ideal conditions and in splendid weather. Mr IX Cain, tho president of flie c!ub, Mr Kennedy, the secretary, and the members of the committee did everything possible to make the trials a. success. Mr J. Logan, of Albury, officiated as judge, and had no pimple task, as the competition in the finished events was very keen. By 2 o'clock only the open and maiden huntaways had been completed, but the short pull and yard event was then commenced, but at 6 o : clock, when work had to cease on account of. the failing light, only half the dogs entered for the event had completed, so that it was necessary to dajourn till the next day, when this event, as well as the long pull and yard, had to take place.'The results were: — OPEN HUNTAWAY, about 500 yards. Time 10 minutes, total points 30. First prize £B, second £i, third £2, fourth £1 - , , Mr J. Parker's Moss (Burikea Pass), 27 points .. •• 1 Mr G. Keeffe's Glen (Fairlie), 26 points t2 Mr P. Kane's Mick (Oamaru), 26 points 12' Mr R; A. White's Toes (Mesopotamia), 24J points .. ■•• ■• i Thirty-nine competed. MAIDEN HUNTAWAY. About 500 yards. Time 10 minutes, total points 30.
