"NEW CAESAR."
MUSSOLINI HAILED. VISIT TO TBIPOLL (by cable—peiss association—coptbight.) (au3traliax axd x.z. cablb association.) (Received April 16th, 7 p.m.) ROME, April 16. •fiiguor Mussolini has left Tripoli for Rome, the fleot accompanying his ship closely. ' Episodes on the trip were most theatrical. The Premier's motorcaravan raced over the desert for three hours, thus reaching Horns. Mussolini took tho wheel and led the cavalcade, often touching 50 miles per hour. The guns in the citadel at Horns saluted on Mussolini's arrival, the refrain being taken up by desert drums, the whining of Arab bagpipes, and cries of Dervishes. Green posters hailed Mussolini ds the new Caesar of modern Rome. When an Arab chief presented hira with a black charger, Mussolini said. "It is a most acceptable gift. I love a horse, whidi symbolises force and speed." Mussolini visited the ruins of Lepusmagiius prior to a most rapid return to Tripoli, the native tribesmen everywhere saluting him with arms upraised.
