RAKAIA FOOTBALL CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Rakaia Rugby Football Club was held in the "Library on Monday evening, Mr C. Shannon presiding over a .large attendance. • The chairman referred to the loss sustained by. the club in the death of the.presir dent, Mr E! ~Foxj and, a, vote of condolenco . iritli (he relatives was passod. . A vote of condolence with Mrs 0, S. Osborri in the death of hit.husband .was also passed, members standing. : The' secretarjV Mr R. Breach, presented the report, which showed that during . last season the club : was the largest in; the .county, having five teams engaged in the competitions. The third grade team had won the Gala Cup for the second time in succession, without losing a match. The, club's aocident insurance scheme had proved a success, and several injured players had bees assisted." 1 s .The balance-Bheet presented by the'treasurer, Mr M; P. Cooke, showed-receipts amounting to £240 7s lid, and expenditure £214 5s 9d, leaving a credit balance of £35 2s7d.The club had also raised £24 to'assist ia Linwood player who was injurediaa match at Bakaia.
