GREY POWER BOARD.
ENGINEERS APPOINTED. (special to "the pbess.") GREYMOUTH, March 8. A special meeting of the Grey Electric Power Hoard was held this evening. Present: Messrs D. Tenneut, C. Udustrouij H. Duggan, J. IV. Greenslade, H. W. Carter, W. Leitch, and A. Robinson. Out of fifty-nine applications, two names were selected for the position of secretary-accountant and it was resolved to make the final selection at a special meeting to be held on March XZud. .The following appointments were made for the position of power station shift engineers: first engineer, Mr C. W. Clark, Lake Coleridge power station; second, Mr B. E. Older, Christchurch; third, Mr R. Sullivan, Greymouth; fourth, Mr R. S. Gillies, Wellington. In the event of Mr C. W. Clark being unable to accept the appointment of first engineer, it was resolved that Mr M. J. McConville be appointed. One hundred and fifty applications were received for the above positions. The engineer reported that a preliminary run of the machinery at the Dobson power station had been very satisfactory. Arrangements had been made to carry out a full load test early next week, before taking the plant over from the contractor. The plant is expected to be in full running order within the next fortnight. Arrangements are being made for the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates) formally to open the power house at an early date.
