There will no work on the waterfront at Lyttelton on Saturday next, owing to the watersiders and Harbour Board picnics being held that day. The Kahika is expected thiß morning from Timaru to load for Napier and Gisborne, She sails via Wellington. The John, due from Timaru this morning, is to sail this afternoon with cargo for Wei-lington.-Wanganui, and New Plymouth. The Kamo is due this afternoon from Wellington with sheep. On completion of discharge sho will sail for Dunedin. The Orepuki should be here this morning from Tarakohe via Timaru. She will complete discharge of her cargo of cement, and will then load for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth, The Breeze is now expected to-morrow from the north, and is to be dispatched in the afternoon for Dunedin and Timaru. The Kurow is due this morning from Wellington, and proceeds this afternoon .to Dunedin. The Storm, due from Timaru to-morrow, is to load for Wellington and Wanganui. The Karetu arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Sydney direct. She is to sail later for Sydney, vis, southern ports. The Wingatui on Thursday and the Kurow on Saturday are both due to load for Auckland. The Manuka is expected at Lyttelton on Thursday from Melbourne, via. Bluft and Dunedin. She is to sail in the afternoon for Wellington, and Melbourne. The C. and D. Line has been advised by cable that the Port Hobart sailed from London on Friday for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, New Plymouth, and Nelson. The vessel is due at Lyttelton on April 10th. After completion of discharge she will load at New Zealand ports for Home. The Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa left Sydney on Friday for Wellington with 154 passengers and 390 tons of cargo. She is due there to-day, and sails on Friday next on the return trip to Sydney. Mr C. B. McSmith has joined the Marama as second engineer. Mr P. W. Rose, fourth engineer of the vessel, has left the ship. Mr J. Powell, chief engineer of tho Cygnet, has been relieved by Mr K. L. Sweet. The Shaw-Savill Company is in receipt of advice that .the Mahia left Balboa on Wednesday evening, en route from London to Lyttelton, Dunedin, and New Plymouth. The vessel is due at Lyttelton on March 24th. The A. and A. Line has been advised by cable that the steamer Atholi left New Tork on February 26th, with cargo for discharge at Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Hobart. She is due at Lyttelton about April 4th. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises, that the steamer Tasmania is expected to arrive at Opua about March 18th from Australia, to load for London. The vessel will also, load at Tokomaru Bay, Waikokopu. Napier, New Plymouth, and Wellington, and is scheduled to sail from Wellington finally early in April.

The Shaw-Savill 'Company advises that the Otira arrived at Napier on Friday evening from Oamaru. The vessel was to leave Napier yesterday for Wellington, where Bhe is due to-morrow to complete loading. She is scheduled to safl from Wellington on March 18th for London, via Monte Video and Teneriffe. Advice has been recevied that the steamer •Montague left San Francisco on March Ist with cargo from Pacific Coast ports for discharge «t Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Auckland about March 27th,- and at Wellington a week later. An alteration has been made in the loading itinerary of the Shaw-Savill Company's steamer Tairoa. The vessel left Timaru on Friday for Auckland, and from there ahe now proceeds to Napier, Lyttelton, and Wellington. Niagara, from Auckland, /was due at Sydney, on Saturday morning. She ■will leave Sydney on her return voyage on Thursday, and is due at .Auckland on March 15th, Suva on March 19th, Honolulu on March 26th. and at Vancouver on April.2nd. The R.M.S. Tahiti was due at Rarotonga from Wellington on Saturday, Papeete yesterday, and at San Francisco on' March 19th. The R.M.S. Makura left San Francisco on February 24th, and was due at Papeete on Saturday, Raratonga to-morrow, and at Wellington on March 15th. She will leave for Sydney on March 16th. TRANS-PACIFIC STEAMERS. The Wairuna was to leave Suva on Saturday for San Francisco and Vancouver. The Waiotapu was to leave Melbourne yesterday for Sydney to complete discharge of the Pacific Coast cargo. The Waitemata left San Francisco on Feb- ; ruary 7th for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Timaru, and New-Plymouth. She arrived at I Naßier. on Saturday.
