Colonel and Mrs John Studholme, who have been visiting Timnru and Coldstream, returned to Christchurch yesterday. Miss Dennis, who has been visiting Tekapo and Mt. Cook, has returned to Christchurch, and is staying with Lady Clifford. Miss Montgomery Moore (Wanganui), who has been visiting Mrs Slarmaduke Betliell (Pahau Pastures), has returned to Christchurch, and is staying at Warwick House. Mrs Austin, who is visiting her daughter, Mrs Gordon Fulton, leaves for Australia next week. Dr. and Mrs J. Ilight have returned from a holiday visit to Dunedin. Mrs Sproule (Napier) is the guest of Slfs J. IX Millton (Garden road). Mrs Gillon (Wellington) is visiting Miss Rita Cracroft Wilson (Papanui road). Mrs Williamson, a visitor from England, is tho guest of Miss Tlieo Beswiek (Alerivale). Mrs Geoffrey Kingscote and her little boy are spending a holiday at Banks Peninsula.
Airs James Palmer (Blue Slountain, Marlborough) is spending a fortnight in Christchurch, and is the guest of Airs Sydney Smith (Riccartou).Air and Airs A. K. Hadfield and Aliss Jessie D'awe returned to Christchurch on Tuesday after a twelve months' visit to Great Britain and the Continent. Airs J. MeArthur, who has been visiting her mother, Sirs W. S. Bean, returned to Slarlborough yesterday. ATisses Eileen and Noeline Knight are visiting Dunedin. Sirs Tringham (Gladstone terrace, Wellington) is staying in Christchurch, and later will visit Dunedin and tho Exhibition.
Among the through passengers from Vancouver to Sydney by tho It.SI.S. Niagara was Airs A. Smith, better known as Aliss Strella Wilson, a noted Australian actress, who was through New Zealand a few years ago with tho Grand Opera Company. Sho is returning to her native land after an absence of four years in tho United States and Canada, under engagement with J. C. Williamson to appear in Gilbert) and Sullivan opera, and will later be singing iu New Zealand. Airs Hutton and Lady Evelyn Maude have returned from a visit to Bit. Cook. , Miss Nonie Enright, who has been visiting her brother in Westport, is returning to Christchurch to-day. Mr and Mrs Arthur Sims are leaving shortly for Englaitd,' and will probably be absent from New Zealand for a considerable time. ' , Sirs G. E. T. Batley and her son, Lieutenant F. Batley (India) arrived in Christchurch yesterday, to visit Sirs Batley's parents, Mr and Sirs Chegwin, Cashmere. . Aliss Bessie, Alacdonald ' returned yesterday from a visit to Sydney. COMING-OF-AGE PARTY. On Slonday, a. very happy evening was spent at the residence of Air and Sirs E. Joines (Caslie! street, Linwood), who gave a pleasant party in honour of tho eoming-of-age of their daughter, Bella. Tho supper and drawing rooms were beautifully decorated with pink and mauve streamers, and masses of pink and mauve sweet peas were used for tho table decorations. About forty guests were present and the birthday cake, decorated with pink ribbons and twenty-one kewpies, was much admired. Miss Bella Joines was presented with a golden key bv Sir D. Busliby.
