As a result of the abolition vote, the Parliamentary Labour Caucus is now looking to the Australian Labour Party Executive to discipline the members of the Legislative Council who either voted against the Bill or were absent from the Chamber during tho division on Tuesday night.
It appears likely that the Labour Party Executive will not- accept the resignations of Messrs F. S. Bryant and J. W. Percival, but will call upon them, with others, to show cause why they should, not be dealt with.
Failing their answering thersummons, they will be automatically expelled. Mr J. T. Lang proposes to adjourn Parliament for a month on Friday nest.
STATE PREMIER RESOLUTE, (Received February 26th, 12.5 sum.) SYDNEY, February 25. Mr Laug stated, in reply.tq a deputation presenting a resolution protesting against the action of the Government endeavouring to abolish the Upper House, carried at tho recent citizens' meeting in the Town Ball, that he intended to ask the Governftr for the appointment of sufficient members to the Legislative Council to ensure the abolition of that Chamber, and, failing success in that quarter, tq demand the appointments from the Imperial authorities as the right of a, self-governing State. He added that if it were going lo be a question of the government of New South Wales by elected representatives of the people-or by Downing Street, he did not think there would be any doubt as to the issue,
