BANKER RETIRES.
PRESENTATION BY CLIENTS. The manager of the Bank of trajasia, Mr E. M. Chettle, is retiring for health reasons, and yesterday, at Ballantyne's, the clients of the bank gathered at luncheon to make him a presentation. Mr H. 0. P. Mcares sided, and expressed the regret of the clients at Mr Chettle's retirement. Hfi also welcomed Mr A. V. Winchester, of Whangarei, who is taking over the i managership of the Christchurch branch of the bank. Ho presented Mr Chettle with a waljet of notes, as a mark qf the esteem in which ho w»b hold by ,the clients. Mr J. Mac Gibbon, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, spoke on behalf of the bankers, stating that Mr Chettje had been an ideal man in the managership. ■ * Mr Chettle .responded suitably, Ho intends making a health tour, "after which be •'would return tq Cferistohurch and take up residence hero.
