X fatal accident which occurred at ±e Awamutu on tlie Ohaupo road, on the evenIn- of December 12th. when a motor-iony returning to Hamilton from the Te Awamutu races upset, killing Ernest Thomas White one of the occupants:, and breaking both legs of another occupant named Cook, bad its sequel at the Hamilton Supreme Court, when Leonard Charles Davis was charged ■with bein<- in a state of whilst in charge of a motor-lorry, and causing the death of White. , . The Magistrate, Mr Wyvern Wilson, a re-hcaring to-dby in tho ease m which* a motor-bus driver, Sydney James Thomas, wes sentenced od Wednesday to seven' "(lavs' imprisonment for stealing a steering wheel r.v.d bonnet of a truck abandoned on the. roadside at Horotiu. Vftcr evidence as to character, the sentence- was .altered to probation for three years.
