HOME ECONOMICS.
A meeting of the committee of the Home Economics Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. on Tuesday to receive the report and balance-sheet for the year, and also to draw up part cf the syllabus for 1926. Mrs Geo. Cooper, (president) was in the chair, others present being Misses Blackmore and MoKea (vice-president), Meedames Muff, Bowbyea, and Garton, Misses Gilmour and Bevin (honorary secretary). Apolopies were received from members unable to attend. The secretary's report stated that the membership was nearly three hundred the proceeds of the last evening, at which Mr Wm. Kennedy showed "is views of* ew Zealand, were given to the Fresh Air Home. The demonstrations given during tho year were mostlv practical, and were found to be most helpful to home-makers and others who wished to try <o carry out the Association's motto, "For Home and Country. A woodwork class for women was formed, and members hoped to be able to continue matins useful things for tho home this vcar "An English Folk Dancing Class was f ho formed, also a dramatic and elocutionary class. There was a credit balance of £7 12s 4d on tho rear's operations. A vato of thanks was passed to tne president and all the members of the committee who had carried on the year's work.
