FAR-REACHING POLICY. (BY 1 CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABL3 ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 31st, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 29. The "Daily Express" understands that the Cabinet is likely to adopt a new, far-reaching agricultural policy, based on tho formation of a Central Land • Mortgage Corporation, formed with the co-operation of the Joint Stock Banks to provide credits on a national scale for farmers upon securities like crops, which the Banks have hitherto not accepted. Tho Government will seek to develop agriculture by similar methods to those of th© Continent, involving tho ownership of small holdings. There will also be a comprehensive land drainage reclamation scheme, opening up largo areas for cultivation. Tho proposals will bo on a scale calculated to affect the whole future of British agriculture.
