PIGEON FLYING.

The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club flew their final old bird race of the season from East Capo recently. A total of 30 birds entered by twelve owners were sent. The birds wore liberated by the thief officer o£ the 5.9. Wainui at 7.5 p.m., in fine, clear weather. Unfortunately bad -weather prevailed on the second duv of tho liberation, and only five birds made the flight in the time allowej for the lace. The winning bird, Snapshot, the property of ilr K. Taylor, flew the distance of 520 miles 993 yards in IShra 40min 46sec (after deducting the hours of darkness. Mr G. Robertson gained second and third place. The following are the results: — R.
