ARBITRATION COURT.

WORKERS' REPRESENTATIVE. SUPPORT FOR MR MONTEITH. A close contest appears likely between Mr H. Hunter and Mr A. L. Monteith for the position of workers' representative on the Arbitration Court. The election takes place this month. At the annual conference of the Alliance of Labour, which concluded on Friday, circulars asking xor support were received from both candidates. After a discussion, in which there was considerable criticism of the sitting; member, a resolution in favour of supporting Mr Monteith was carried by a majority of about four votes to one. It was also decided to suupport Mr W. 15. Sill for tJio position of emergency representative. It is considered that Mr C. W. It. Dixon, of Otago, whohas also been nominated for the position of workers' representative, has very little prospect of being elected, but he is likely to take votes from Mr Hunter. Woollen Workers. At a meeting of the Kaiapoi branch of the Woollen Workers' Union, held on Saturday evening, it was decided to support the candidature of Mr Hiram Hunter as workers representative on tho Court of Arbitration.
