Williams was sentenced to eighteen months' hard labour, and Geoffrey Allien to six months' imprisonment, for conspiring to cheat Douglas Arden and kidnapping him. [Thomas Williams and Geoffrey and Charles Arden were charged }vith conspiracy to defraud Douglas their grandfather, aged 81 years, oi moneys and securities. They kidnapped their grandfather in a London street mid drove him in a tasi-cab to Gloucester Gate, where put hi.s signature to eleven bills of i'sooo each.]
