The defence raised the plea of insanity, but the prison doctor gave evidence tliat Burrows was normal, and remarkably detached and callous. Two other medical witnesses regarded him as abnormal. [Probation Constable Herbert Barrows was charged with the murder or George Laigiit, a publican, his wile, and baby, at Worcester on December 6th. Burrows admitted the crime, ana said that the cause would be known.]
