DEATH SENTENCE.
$ CALLOUS CRIMINAL. (by cabi.i—rsr.ss association —corntiGHT.) (AUSTRALIA* AND SI CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON. January 28. Probationer Constable Burrows wasentenced to death. The defence raised the plea of insanity, but the prison doctor gave evidence tliat Burrows was normal, and remarkably detached and callous. Two other medical witnesses regarded him as abnormal. [Probation Constable Herbert Barrows was charged with the murder or George Laigiit, a publican, his wile, and baby, at Worcester on December 6th. Burrows admitted the crime, ana said that the cause would be known.]
