A party of young ladies from tha Lobnrn district recently spent a delightful holiday at Mrs A. C. Cook's bach, Waikuku Beaclf, with Mrs H. Saxton as chaperon. Those present were: Misses Sara Hodgson, Ruby Bennett, Thclnia Henry, May Kelfand, Ella Galletlv, Myrea Hintt, Irene James, Una Croft, and Iris Pulley. ASHLEY BANK. A. Bowbves, Springdale, returned to her home on Friday. Miss B. Williams, who has been the guest, of Mrs Criglington, Ashley, returned to Christchurch on Friday. LEESTON. Constable R. Moriarty, officer' in charge of the "Leeston police district, is on holiday, and Constable W. H. Mackrell, of Southbridge, is relieving. Mr F. S. Jarman, secretary of the Springs-Ellesmere Electric Power Board, is attending a conference of Power Board secretaries in Dunedin. The Rev, W. and Mrs Uphill, of Leeston, have returned from a visit. to Dunedin. Mr W. Harden, of- Thames, and Mrs Harden, who have been staying with Mr and Mrs T. J. Ramsey, Leeston. have left on a visit to Dunedin ana the Southern Lakes accompanied by Miss D. Ramsey.
