The death occurred of Admiral Sir Ernest Troubridgo at Biarrits (France! 1 during a tea dance. [Admiral Sir Ernest Troubridge waa born in 1862 and at an early ago joined the Navy. He was Naval Attacae at Vienna, Madrid, and Tokyo from ISOI to 1904, and Captain and Chief «f Staff in tho Mediterranean from to 1908. From 1911 to 1912 ho was Chief of tho War Staff of the Admiralty, during the last named year being appointed to the command of tiro Mediterranean Cnmer Squadron. Ho was head of the British Naval Mission to Serbia in 1915, and was admiral commanding on the Danube in_ 1913. Ho was placed on tho retired list in 1921, but continued his service for his eonptry, for from 1921 to 1924 was I'rcsi dent of tho International Commissbr of the Danube.] SIR GEORGE FORREST. (Received January 29th, 8.50 P-W-) LONDON, January 28. The death is announced of Sir George Forrest, tho historian, in his 80th year. [Sir George William Forrest educated at Cambridge, and after reading for tho Bar, was admitted to the Inner Templo. He was appointed hy the Secretary of State to the Rom hay Education Department in 1872 ant! acted as Census Commissioner at Borabay ten years later. After serdral years of useful work in India, lie was appointed assistant secretary to tho Government of India in 1808 and secretary to tho Government of luUFa. Patents Branch from 1891 to 1900, in which year he retired. Among his works was "Tho Lifo of Lord Roberts ' and tho "Life of Lord Clivc."]
