The steamer -went full speed when over 300 miles from Sydney in order to obtain medical attention if or one of the crew, G. Ramsay, who had an arm torn off in the engine-room. As there was no doctor aboard the ship the captain attended to the injured man. In response to a wireless from the Marama the vessel was met by an ambulance and Ramsay was taken to hospital.
