@ A PROFITABLE BUSINESS. (PBZSS ASSOCIATION* TELE OH AM,) AVAIPUKUIJAU, January 15. On a charge of using the premises of the Sanatorium as a common gaming house on August 2nd, Edward Hooper was fined £lO and 7s costs. The transactions were not regarded by the Magistrate as very serious. Percy Edmund Tremaine pleaded guilty to using premises in Waipukurau as a common gaming house, on January Bth and December With. He was fined £SO on each charge, and 7s costs. It was shown that the transactions had been considerable. Defendant had banked £1490 in 10 months, and £llO in two months recently.
