TRAINING MIGRANTS.
FLOCK HOUSE A SUCCESS. (press association- telegram.) WELLINGTON, January IS. At tho annual meeting of the NewZealand Shipowners' Acknowledgment of Debt to British Seamen Fund, the Hon. E. Newman, who presided, congratulated the subscribers on tho very successful year's work, and complimented the Flock House staff. The station had continued to prove suitable for training, and as a commercial undertaking had paid a fair rate of interest. Considerable improvements had been made, and 1-10,000 trees had been planted on 200 acres. Farmers highly appreciated bovs trained there. Tho annual report showed that in a li £29,950 had been spent since tho Fund was established, and 111 boys had completed training. During the year 178 applications had been received for assistance, and grants had been made amounting to £1435. The report also alluded to the purchase of a property at Awapuni for the training of girls.
