A residential club for elderly women who would otherwise lead lonely lives is being built near Sunningdaie, and will be opened next spring. AVl;en it is rcadv 100 women over fifty-five will be able to take up residence there. Lady Bertha Dawkins, Woman of the Bedchamber to the Queen, and one of the workers for i the club, said to nil interviewer: "Thej club is intended for those who have ! an income of between £.lO and £I'JU a i year. They will each pay Gs (id a week j for a room and 10s for board. The j club will be run on the lines of other j women's clubs, and will provide most of the usual amenities.
