RURAL MAILS.

CHEVIOT DISTRICT. The development of the rural mail system in Canterbury will be further advanced on January 2nd by the commencement of a rural mail delivery in the Cheviot district. The new service will cover a route of 27 miles via Mina, Phoebe, Spotswood and JMacmillan road, and is timed to leave Cheviot at 2 p.nT. daily. The contractors are Messrs G. W. Truman and Co., the Cheviot agents for "The Press," who will be plad to receive orders for regular delivery.
