BISHOP TAYLOR-SMITH AT EXHIBITION. (press association telegram.) DUNEDIN, December 29. The full force of the holiday crowds is now being felt at the Exhibition. Hitherto 11,000 or 12,000 has been regarded as a very satisfactory attendance for Monday night, but yesterday the tally was 24,896, bringing the total attendance for six weeks of 35 days up to 606,797, which is equal to a daily average of 17,337. To-morrow a big competitive ambulance demonstration, for which teams from the four centres have enterecT, will swell the total and New Year's Eve, with a magnificent fireworks display, is expected to be the biggest day of all. Speaking in the Concert Hall at the Education Court, Bishop Taylor-Smith, formerly of Sierra Leone, and for 24 years Cihaplam-<Jeneral of his Majesty's forces, congratulated the City of Dunedin and the people of New Zealand generally on "this magnificent Exhibition." "I had the privilege of seeing Wembley both last year and this year," he said, "and I do not hesitate to say that your Exhibition, though it may not be as extensive as Wembley, impresses me as magnificent and second to none I have ever seen. It is better even than some of the bigger Exhibitions, because everything is so well arranged and on© can grasp at once what is displayed in tho various courts."
