Though it was a double market, there was an unusually small entry of sheep and only a moderate attendance at the Tinwald yards yesterday. The sheep totalled 411, including 72. (at ewes, 79 fat wethers, 36 lambs, and 224 stores. The entry of cattle was 26 head. The principal sales were. Ewes: ' Shorn, 10 at 25s 9d. 8 at 24s 6d, 7 at 21s lOd, 5 at 25s 3d, 7 at 203 7d, 7 at 235, 24 at 18s 6d. Wethers: Shorn, 26 at 325, 2 at 27s 9d, 20 at 325, 10 at 325. Lambs: 2 at 29s 9d, 5 at 29s 6d, 5 at 28s 6d, 10 at 30s, 2 at 325, 4 at 31s 3d, 4 at 295. Stores:- The - only sales were 55 : halfbred ewe hoggets at 355; 108 two, lour, six, and eight-tooth three-quarterbred ewes at 24s Bd. Cattle: Forward cows brought £6 10s to £8 10s, heifers £3 4s to £5 10s. springers £5 5s to £5 10s, cow in profit, with calf, £6 7s 6d. . . FROZEN MEAT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cabled advice from London: —Lamb: 91d per lb (average). Mutton: Quotations unchanged; market Quiet. Last quotations: Wether and maiden ewe, light 7}d per lb, heavy 6Jd per lb; ewe, light 'sd per lb, heavy 4gd per lb.
