ENGLISH PARK STADIUM.
TO-NIGHT'S PROGRAMME. I'hil O'Siica and ''Jumbo" Wells, two nctod sprint champions, will meet, at English Park Stadium to-night in a three distance match race. Both riders Lave made cycling history since they commenced racing over sixteen year 3 ago. O'Shea, is a. road and track champion, and Wells wa3 a prominent six days and match race rider. Up to Wednesday last it was expected by cycling fans that O'Shea would defeat "Wells, but after ihis splendid showing in the fifty miles teams' raco last AVednesday, Wells has gained a largo number of supporters, who contend that Wells will extend the Jocal champion. The programme of handicap events is flic best ever offered to tho public this season. The final of the first-class three-lap handicap wilt be decided, also a two and three laps open handicap. Tho contestants in tlieso events jncludo Harry "Watson, Tli 11 Mackic, Mick Fitzgerald, Frank Carey, Jack Bcarman, Cyril Sowclen. Hector tlurnand, and Clarric Auatin. The racing will be full of interest and tlm public will he well catered for with a varied programme of highclasa athletic events. An amateur cycling race, whippet racing, and an amateur run will also be held. The track is now in first-' e,las3 order for racing, and riders are in great form in view of. the Kcw Zealand Championships, to be decided at Ihinedin on December 29th and 30th. The first race will start at 8 o'clock. Perry's Military Band will be in attendance..
