CIVIC RECEPTION AT GREYMOUTH. (rRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGEAU.) GREYMOTJTH, December 18. The Governor-General paid an official visit to Greymouth to-day. After a formal welcome by a representative deputation in the morning aboard the Tutanekai, the Vice-Regal party motorod to James State Colliery, into which the party proceeded a distance of a mile. Lady Ferguson fired two shots, the Governor-General two, and their son one shot. The party then motored to Punakaiki, visiting the celebrated blowholes. In the evening, a large crowd gathered at the civic welcome in the Town. Hall. • ■ ■ Sir Charles Fergusson, after referring to the promising industrial prospects of the coast, remarked upon its resemblance to his home in Ayrshire.
