CITY ROBBERY.

TOBACCONIST'S SHOP ENTERED. The tobacconist's shop of Mr E. Prothero, opposite the Now Zealand Fanners' Co-operativo Stores in Cashel street, was entered by thieves on Thursday night and goods to the value of £7O were stolen. Tho door was opened by a jemmy, and when Mr Prothero arrived there yesterday morning ho found tho place in chaos. His Christmas goods had just been opened and these had been stolen. Not only wero tobacco, cigarettes, and toilet preparations filched, but even the owners hairdressing instruments. Twelve razors, which ho had sharpened overnight, were goiie as also was a case of expensive pipes. In the jiroprietor's opinion the burglary was the work of youths.
