Many complaints had been made to the Council about the rate of speed motorists travelled there, but this was the first Diwecution of its kind, "rSonie people have no idea of the aower of the machines they control," said the presiding Magistrate (Mr HP. Lawry, S.M.), "and sometimes it is because "of that accidents happen." However, he understood the case hsvl ben brought as a warning, and he would take that into consideration. \Each defendant was convicted and fined 20s and costs.
